One might think that this 1927 landmark building, situated on a peaceful tree lined street is in the heart of Paris. The Lowell Hotel, however, is centrally located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, between Madison and Park Avenues, steps away from Manhattan's famous museums and New York City's world-renowned Madison and Fifth Avenue boutiques and shops. A liveried doorman ushers the guest to an Empire Style reception desk with no registration lines. The "hotel intime" atmosphere is complete with lobby designed by Dalmar Tift III which combines Art Deco touches, French Empire Style furniture with lustrous golden scalamandres, chiaroscuro walls and a rare desk console signed by Edgar Brandt. The Lobby is contiguous to the famous Post House Restaurant, the entrance of which is separated by an original 1920's door.
The Management, who is highly respectful of their elite customers' privacy, run this New York-European haven like a "Pied-a-terre", a home away from home. The Lowell offers 47 suites and 25 deluxe rooms, all of which are uniquely decorated with exquisite antique furniture and upholstered in fine fabrics. Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century prints, Chinese porcelains, wood burning fireplaces, libraries, full service kitchens and marble baths with brass fixtures complete the elegance offered in these comfortable suites. The Lowell provides Bulgari bathroom amenities, VCRs, DVD and CD players, wireless high speed internet access, and points for PCs and fax machines in all accommodations.
