WEICHERT, REALTORS was founded by Jim Weichert in 1969. He started the company in Chatham, NJ in 1969 with one office and had grown to one of the largest real estate companies in the United States by the year 2000. Mr. Weichert wanted to go nationwide and to do that he created Weichert affiliates and began to sell franchises across the United States.
