Apparently, the Lower East Side is big enough for two mezcal mansions. First, Los Feliz hit the scene with dozens of Mexican spirits at their three story subterranean haunt. Now, Casa Mezcal is getting into the agave game. Only a few block away from Feliz, this casa sets themselves apart with some key flourishes. They have the prerequisite rare tequila and mezcal selection. Look for the bottle with the dead scorpion at the bottomit's thought that the critter's energy infuses into the spirit (plus, it's like totally badass). Casa Mezcal's basement is equipped with a stage that will host live acts, and the LES flavor won't be lost (i.e. no mariachi bands). They also serve a menu of Mexican bites like tacos and (drumroll) fried grasshoppers. If scorpion infused mezcal wasn't badass enough, those puppiesserved with melted cheeseshould do the trick.
