When describing the bar scene on the Lower East Side, a lot of words come to mind, and "cozy" sure isn't one of them (we'd favor hoppin' and boozy before that). This small wine bar has a completely different vibe that most of the more happening spots in the hood. Expect to sip your vinos while peering out the French windows that look out to the hustle and bustle on Essex Street. The tin ceilings aren't the only old-school thing in this spotjust stop by on a night when the space hosts live jazz musicians on the simple stage to get a feel for what this neighborhood must have felt like before all the hipster hordes made it into nightlife central. If you're hungry, there are a few simple snacks on the menu (hummus and cheese), or you can get a sandwich imported from the nearby Flowers Caf, which is owned by the same team.
