Hitch your horse to the post and head in to Avenue A's low-key sports bar The Horse Box. If you don't have a horse, you can just walk over from the L Train. The no-frills space was just remodeled, and the design focuses on the basics: a bar and plenty of TVs to stare at during game time. They do have some nice exposed brick on one of the walls, but everyone is too focused on the tube to care. When the game's not on, the spot has an Xbox at the ready, so you can give your thumbs a workout between sips of your beer. The draft line includes standards like Heineken, Sam Adams and Guinnessif you're looking for fancy craft beer you're out of luck. Don't be too disappointed though: They've got a rocking happy hour. Everything is half price from noon to 8 p.m., and Wednesday features $1 drinks specials for the ladies. Just remember: Don't drink and gallop.
