Description:

Rum-soaked Cienfuegos marks phase two of a four-part mini-Cuban restaurant-and-bar empire in the East Village, from the team behind Mayahuel, Death & Co., and Bourgeois Pig. The bar (upstairs from cheery sister sandwich spot Carteles) focuses on fancy rum punches (like the Moveable Feast, named for the Hemingway novel and made with Mount Gary Eclipse Silver, dry French cider and Regan's nutmeg bitters), and there are Cuban bar snacks from the kitchen downstairs. With a tropical pink-and-green color scheme and charmingly kitschy couches, this is a place designed for lounging, grooving to some rumba-tinged beats and sipping an artfully mixed sugarcane spirit (or three).
