This neighborhood Japanese restaurant has reopened after a spruce up. With high ceilings, plenty of new pub-style tables in the back and some stylish circular lighting fixtures, this Japanese joint offers a more upscale drinking locale than the nearby Village Pourhouse or Nevada Smiths. They've also added a few large TVs, so you can catch the game as you chow down on some tempura. Nothing beats sitting at the bar and throwing back some miso infused foie gras as you drink a beer. They've got plenty of standards on tap (Stella, Goose Island, both $6) and their menu offers a selection of traditional Japanese, with some creative twists (check out their tasting menus). They also do takeout, but after they've made the space so pretty, you'll want to dine in.
