Spared the modern trappings of many Americanized Irish barsGolden Tee, mp3 jukeboxes, and so onthis East Village neighborhood spot simply feels like the right kind of joint to put away a Guinness or two, where it's often quiet enough to carry on a conversation, but comfortable and eclectic enough to keep you for another round. The bar's front room is made up of just that: the bar. It extends the length of the warm space, flanked by table seating on the front end and a performance room with additional seating on the other. A back room features Irish music on Sundays and poetry on Mondays, as well as other occasional performances and in-season Liverpool soccer games. But even with music in the back, it's not so loud to eschew conversation in the main room. If you can't leave home without your pup, tote ol' boy along11th Street is pet-friendly.
