Description:
Named after the patron saint of the mentally ill, this casual, low-key Irish pub holds the cure for those times when you feel youve gone off the deep end: well-poured, free-flowing Guinness served by a friendly staff whose disposition is as cheery as the bars bright yellow faade. Though it boils down to your basic neighborhood bar, it exudes a homey charm with plank wood flooring and gaslight sconcesnot to mention its one of the few places in the East Village where people actually go to drink while sitting down (a modern marvel!). When the weather gets warmer, take your pint of Tetleys or Strongbow dry cider outside to the back patio where you can sip under strung-up twinkling lights in the comfort of white plastic garden chairs.
