It's spring break by way of the Financial District at Mad Dog & Beans, whose name doesn't totally hint at the fact that it's a Mexican bar and restaurant, but hey. Beans are popular in Mexico, so maybe that's it. Anyway, the decor's fiesta-y with colorful art, exposed brick and lots of wood; the drinks are strong and tequila-y; and the crowd can be sloppy but friendlyplenty of collared shirts and pumps, which is par for the neighborhood. Plus there's room to get lost in the frayMad Dog's a two-floor affair with plenty of space to mix and mingle.
