There isnt a secret entrance and you wont find dolled up waitresses that talk in jazz age slang (though sometimes they are the cats meow). Flatiron succeeds solely on cocktail making merit. Owner Julie Reiner can be credited with starting New Yorks current love affair with fine drink when she opened this spot back in 2003. Today the lounge is just as popular. It still draws flocks of libation mavens despite the increased competition from the countless other cocktail dens that it inspired. If youre looking for a gimmick, head elsewhere. If you want some of the best damn drinks that youll ever try, pull up a stool at this spot.
