Citrine, the former tenant in this space above Belgian restaurant MARKT, shut down in a hot New York minute. Studio XXI hopes to avoid that spot's fate with spruced-up dcor and an amped-up sound system. The small club space is ideal for a night of bottle service without the word "mega" attached to it, as this room is much more intimate than the mega clubs over in the Western part of Chelsea. The circular light fixtures that are the signature design element of the space bathe the room in a cool, purple hue, setting the mood for some canoodling into the wee hours of the morning. Banquettes are set up for the bottle service that dominates the space, while most seats have a prime view of the DJ booth, which is smack-dab in the middle of the room for your viewing pleasure (gotta love the old-school microphone hanging from the ceiling). If a favorite DJ is playing, this is a good place to see them, since you'll be so close to the action.
