Description:

The folks behind the Village Pourhouse and Sidebar sure have poured a lot of drinks in their day, and they're bring their experience to this bar, which features a bevy of brews. To go with the suds, a menu contains many bar food standards but with a more ambitious twist: Many of the dishes are inspired by the state of New York, and a lot of the ingredients are locally sourced. You can get a grilled cheese made with fromage from the Hudson Valley, while the oyster roll uses freshly shucked bivalves from Long Island. The extensive beer list also keeps things entirely within the Empire State: All 76 of their beers are local, with labels from brewers like Blue Point (Long Island) and Ommegang (Cooperstown). If you want to sample a few brews from a single maker, check out the Bucket o Brewery options, which are basically tasting flights featuring the wares of a single provider.
