Having a drink at this snug UWS wine bar is like being a cork inside a wine bottle (if you'll let us stretch that metaphor a bit): You get plenty of great wine-access, but boy is it a tight fit. Intimate, indeed, is the setting at Bin 71, where just a handful of early arrivers can nab seats around the horseshoe bar. In a locale largely bereft of wine bars, Bin 71 offers a terrific selection (100 wines by the bottle, 30 by the glass) as well as a fine menu of tapas (hams, cheeses and their acclaimed meatballs). If your tagalong only drinks beer, they've got a few domestic and imported micros available. But don't be turned off by the flat screens tuned to the gamethis is definitely no sports bar.
