Eleventh Avenue is a nightlife wasteland, and Dixies Texas Tavernthe former tenant in this spacedidn't last long. American Retro Bar is set to give it another go and, thankfully, give the pre-show crowds somewhere to go before heading over to nearby Terminal 5. There's nothing fancy about this spot; they basically slapped a coat of paint on the spot, turned on the taps, and opened the doors. But, since it's the only cheap place to drink on this strip, you shouldn't really complain. Expect the usual-suspect beers on draft (Bud, Stella) and a menu of bar food like burgers, wraps and pasta. There's also a skee ball machine, and the competitions can get a little intense after a few drinks. If you're looking for a deal, the place plays host to a nightly happy hour until 7 p.m. If that can't draw you to 11th Avenue, then nothing can.
