Description:
The sophomore effort from the owners of Highlands is a Scottish brasserie in the space once occupied by the troubled Allen & Delancey. The layout has been completely reworked, and the dcor features tartan prints from Loch Carron (known for making textiles for Vivienne Westwood and the late Alexander McQueen), and wallpaper from Timorous Beastie, the Glaswegian firm responsible for Highlands wall coverings. Executive chef Will Hickox offers a menu of Franco-Scottish dishesafter all, Mary Queen of Scots was also Frances monarchwhich will be less hardcore than at Highlands, which means no haggis or cullen skink. Instead, there's brasserie classics like an angus beef burger, hanger steak frites and roast chicken with Burgundy reduction. A list of charcuteriechicken liver, veal cheek terrineis available for $6 per. On the cocktail front, an all-star list of mixmen are onboard, including TJ Lynch, Jay Zimmerman and Nate Dumas (not just single malts, but there will be plenty of those).
