Description:

In the Meatpacking District, you can party sky-high over at The Standard Hotel. But, what if you want to get your groove on deep underground? The Bunker is burrowed deep below Ninth Avenue, in a former bank vault that was built in the 1800s. The space was recently discovered by a developer, who only came across it due to a construction accident. Of course, the only thing to do with a new space in this area is turn it into a nightlife hot spot. The name evokes the Cold War era, and the room is fittingly spartan with concrete walls and exposed pillars holding up the roof. It's not as swanky as some of the surrounding clubs, but that's doesn't mean the crowd isn't posh. Expect a tough door at the entrance on the streets above (it's that metal door by Bill's Bar and Burger)plenty of well-heeled revelers will try to descend into this space to get down.
