Need some help understanding the experimental theater at Dixon Place? Try a few shots. The Lounge at Dixon Place serves hooch to theater loving crowds both post- and (more important) pre-performance. You don't have to love shows like the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus to take part in the booze. A two-for-onehappy hour on Monday through Friday (6 to 7 p.m.) entertains drinkers of all sorts. The theater also promises a series of free events in the lounge if don't have enough money for cocktails and a ticket. Stained-glass artwork in the foyer and antique Persian rugs solidify a bohemian-artist's-den vibe, which fits seeing that all proceeds go back to support the nonprofit theater. With cheap prices and drinking for charity, you better slam a few during intermission.
