Paul Sevigny and Nur Khan claim that their new Soho restaurant Kenmare isn't meant to replace the shuttered Beatrice Inn as the choice hipster spot in town. One look at the menu and you believe them: The softly lit room is meant to showcase chef Joey Campanaro's (Little Owl) Mediterranean-inspired bites. So it's not a club per se, but they've definitely got the comfort food you need for a night out on the town. Dinner entrees include gravy meatball sliders and basil gnocchi with short rib ragout, while the cocktail list was crafted by spirits maven Charlotte Voisey. The chic marble tables and the stucco walls run with the Mediterranean vibemaybe these party boys have really grown up. But wait. What's with the lounge space in the basement? It's currently not open, management says, but it won't be surprising if stylish nightlife denizens soon descend into this it's really not Beatrice room to have some old-school-style fun.
