Nestled beneath the infamous Chelsea Hotel, this discreet 23rd Street location offers respite from the circus-like atmosphere of West Chelsea clubland - for now, at least. The venue is a tad heavy-handed in its attempt to recreate the turbulently glamorous days of the hotel, but the outcome is definitely interesting. Comprised of three distinctive areas, the VIP room is aptly named "Room 100" in reference to the fateful suite at the hotel where punk icon Sid Vicious put an end to girlfriend Nancy's life. The second room serves as a sleek, lively dance space and the third room is modeled after the days when the gentleman's club was king and the barstool trumped the leather banquette. Here, patrons can sample one of many cocktails whose monikers are snatched from legendary Chelsea Hotel residents such as The Socialite (Edie Sedgwick) and The Guitarist (Jimi Hendrix).
