Know one thing before you head to this super swank lounge in the Mondrain Soho: It's not a brothel. In case there was any confusion about that fact, a sign that greets you in the space provides that information (also noting that "there are no prostitutes at this address"). The spot is run by the former doorman of Bungalow 8, where he honed his skill of letting the select few in and keeping the other 98 percent of people out. Once you're inside, get ready for some of the hottest DJs in a space that pays homage to old-time Shanghai with red banquettes and Persian rugs (the dcor also pays homage to Chinatown, which is a few blocks away). If you can't get past the door, take heart; The hotel also plays host to Sam Talbot's restaurant Imperial No. 9, which regularly sees a happening crowd as well.
