An uptown joint with a discernible downtown vibe, this Harlem hotspot not only draws local folks with their creative menu, extensive cocktail list and perpetual live music and event roster but a number of celebrities have been to known to pass through as well. The menu, while infused with Deep South accents, relies heavily on a satisfying blend of Caribbean, Italian, Asian and Latin cuisines. Try a "Soul Sushi" roll: fully cooked soul food specialties rolled and cut maki-style, like the Last Dragon Roll (chicken, avocado and applewood smoked bacon topped with mini crabcakes and served with a spicy chipotle aioli.) The signature drink offerings are not only extensive but whimsical, with expertly-mixed cocktails like Sex in the Inner City, What Had Happened Was..., Kung-Fu Grip and Kool-Aid Kooler.
