Organic Italian and Mediterranean food is the focus at Chef Melissa Muller's cozy West Village restaurant and wine bar (the vino and cocktails will be organic too, once a liquor license comes through), where dishes rotate depending on what's good and fresh at the Greenmarket. Currently on the menu are small plates like the Fiore Sardo, made with sheep's cheese and arugula, and drizzled with lavender honey ($9), as well as panini, bruscetta and specialty pizzas, all in the $15 range. Of course, just because Muller uses organic and locally sourced products doesn't mean her food is daintyfor instance, make sure to save room for the organic, grass-fed meatballs with rigatoni, slathered in a rich and tangy tomato sauce ($14). Mmm, local.
