When a Jazz club has managed to stick around as long as this one hasover 70 yearstheir strict rules cannot be disputed. As long as you show up on time (reservations are only held for 15 minutes), pay the $30-$35 entry fee, don't make a peep during the shows and keep cell phones out of the staff's sight (they're particularly strict about this one), you'll enjoy listening to the renowned artists like Tommy Flanagan, Lou Donaldson and Cecil Taylor in a cozy, velvety red space, which you have to admit, outweighs Blackberry messaging "You out?," to the rest of the crew.
