Located below Tribeca restaurant Plein Sud, this subterranean lounge seeks to pay homage to the French town of Arles. The space really sexes things up with a bullfighting theme. It turns out that the French could get take down the horned monsters just as well as the Spanish, and the lounge is decked out in vibrant red colors that mirror the traditional uniform of a bullfighter. There are even a few framed capes hanging on the wall, but dont think of taking these down and seeing if anyone in the tipsy crowds will charge. While a real bull would be a danger, you dont have to worry too much about being gored by the prices. The list of cocktails has a few selections at $12 a pop. The drinks incorporate the flavors of this French region, look for ingredients like lavender and fennel to make their way into your drink. After youve listened to the in-house DJ and are ready to head out, theres only one way to exit. Head up to the street, and hail a cab by yelling toro!
