Theyre full of bull. Literally. The centerpiece at this new Southwestern food emporium, in Rock Center, is Manhattans only mechanical bullafter all, theres nothing like a nice gentle rodeo spin to help you digest those barbecued ribs. Much more midtown lounge than O.K. Corral, the space is minimally peppered with contrived down home elements (bucolic wood-paneled walls) while retaining an unmistakable midtown awareness (rounded leather banquettes, flickering candles, generic lounge-y beats). The chef, Marlon Manty, is a Danny Meyer vet from Blue Smoke, and he whips up hearty offerings like poblano-style braised short ribs and smoked chicken pot pie. Lets hope the food stays down.
