This ironically named bar (it's only 380 square feet) was founded in 1990, at the tail end of the East Village's former life as a crack denit's since survived the surrounding bistro-ism and remains a friendly, low-key dive of micro stature. Eight swivel bar stools and five booths comprise the seating options, and an abundance of black vinyl upholstery gives it a '50s retro vibe. Brooklyn Pilsner flows from the bar's single tap (fitting more kegs would be a chore) and a simple selection of bottles rounds out the beer selection. Liquors range from well to single malt, and vintage rock reverberates through the compact room as local drinkers angle for elbow room.
