The only new thing about BLDG, located on 47th Street, is the name. The space was formerly China Club, and you'll find that the renamed Midtown space is the same as it ever was. Same metal detectors and security pat-downs as you enter. Same pricey cocktails. And, on the dance, floor, same bridge-and-tunnel crowds willing to pony up the $20 entrance fee at the door. The tri-level space offers three distinct atmospheres: a lounge on the first floor, a techo heavy club on the second, chill drinking patio on the roof. If it's warm enough, the place to be is on the roof. The fresh air offers this spot's only respite from fist-pumping.
