Description:
How does this Tavern stand out among all of the other beer halls in the Grand Central Station area? They let you pour your own brew. The booths in this wood-paneled room come equipped with their own drafts, but don't think you can go all Barney Gumble and drink straight from the spigot. The self-pour draft lines are mechanized, meaning you can program them to pour by the pint (and also meaning they keep exact track of just how much you're drinking). If you don't want to be so close to the source, there are plenty of black leather couches that project an old-school men's-club vibe. As for the rest of the dcor, the tin ceilings and wooden seats are inspired by 1920s New York. OK, bars didn't have flat-screen TVs showing the game back then, but everything can't be authentic. If you're looking for a bite to eat before heading over to the station to catch your train, expect a menu of classic pub fare like pot pies and burgers. A full bar is also available if you want something other than beer, or if you just need a break from the suds.
