Given that Midtown East has never been a nightlife nexus, you can hardly blame 925 for trying to usher in the crowds with a fail-proof fallback: a gimmick. The number in its name reflects not its address as one might assume, but the fact that everything on the menu costs $9 (cocktails), $5 (beer) or $2 (snacks). An older crowd dominated by after-work suits fills the narrow, elongated space on weeknights, but thats no coincidence: arbitrarily throwing in yet another magic number, males under the age of 25 are not permitted entrance. Those who exceed the age limit sip a colorful roster of martinis with names like Blue Moon, Pink Sapphire and Purple Passion under a six-foot fish tank at the curving carved-wood bar.
