12/31/2012 - Dining Etiquette When Dining

This article briefly summarizes step by step guide

to dining etiquette while dining

Be sure to make reservations if the restaurant you chose is a fancy or popular one. This usually involves giving the waiter your social security number or perhaps your credit card number. Most restaurants don't have this policy but a few of the posh ones do. It's very embarrassing to show up without reservations and having to wait for a table, leaving a very bad impression on your date. Also, be sure a check to see if they have a dress code and dress properly and tell your date in advance what to wear.

When your food arrives, proper dining etiquette requires you to eat at a moderate pace so that you have time to talk. A good measure of how fast you should eat is to count 10 seconds between each mouthful. It is bad dining etiquette if you gobble down your food and you spend the rest of the time watching your date eat.

Don't slurp your soup, smack your lips, or chew with your mouth open. Nothing is more unsightly than watching someone talk and chew their food at the same time. Your napkin should be placed on your lap at all times. don't tuck it into your belt or use it as a bib. If you have to get up, place it neatly on your seat. The rules of dining etiquette are simple to follow and will prevent much embarrassment.

When dining, keep your eyes on your date at all times and try to smile between mouthfuls. Occasionally, you should make an effort to show some interest and ask, "How's your seafood souffl©?" If she needs anything, you are the one who is supposed to flag down the waiter by a gentle wave of the hand until one notices you.
When eating, insert your fork straight in your mouth. Don't place your fork in the side of your mouth as it increases the chances of food sliding away, which could be very embarrassing. If you get food stuck in your mouth don't pick it out with your fingers or fork at the table. Excuse yourself and go to the restroom and get it out with a toothpick.

Source: http://diningoutinfo.com
11/29/2011 - Wicked

Audiences are cheering for this musical hit inspired by the beloved story of The Wizard of Oz!

Long before Dorothy drops in, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of how these two unlikely friends grew to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

This fantasy-filled musical was the winner of three 2004 Tony Awards including prizes for Best Costume Design and Best Scenic Design. From real flying monkeys to a trip to the Emerald City and a soaring, modern score by Stephen Schwartz, Wicked is a true spectacle for the eyes and ears.

The twists and turns in Gregory Maguire's incredibly imaginative back-story to The Wizard of Oz makes audiences literally gasp with delight. But not only that, Wicked is a truly heartfelt story of friendship and love. As Richard Zoglin of Time Magazine put it, "If every musical had a brain, a heart and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place!"

For more info & tickets visit: http://www.wickedthemusical.com/
