This small, unobtrusive-looking storefront trattoria is a great find whether you're in the neighborhood checking out the galleries or trying to make a Knicks game at the Garden. Don't expect fancy surroundings or a trendy crowd because you won't find either. At lunchtime, the place is crowded with neighborhood business people, and at dinner there are lots of families who call the area home.
The menu has plenty of tasty surprises. Almost all the pastas are good, but don't pass up anything that includes the smoked meats and sausages that the downstairs meat-packing plant ships to restaurants all over the country.
