Au Mandarin bills itself as a European Oriental restaurant, but diners may wonder just where to find the European influence on the menu. Perhaps it's just perfunctory: Paris and Frankfurt versions popped up across the pond. Offerings burst with traditional Chinese dishes, from General Tso's chicken to Kung Pao shrimp (though the prawns Grand Marnier is a nice touch). The atrium location in World Financial Center caters to a steady business clientele during the week and upscale tourists on WTC pilgrimages on the weekends. Nothing to write home about, but if you find yourself nearby, it's worth the visit.
