Description:
Recently reopened under the watch of Tao alum Sam Hazen, this longstanding, upscale Flatiron restaurant with an epic wine cellar aims to be a bit more accessible than in years past. Several of the 3,000-plus wines on offer come in under $100, and more gently priced a la carte and bar menus offer casual alternatives to the formal tasting menu. The menu is also losing much of its French flair, and focusing instead on seasonal New American offerings, like maple-brined wooly pig with wilted butter lettuce ($33), seared scallops with sunchoke puree ($32) and an heirloom apple crisp ($10) for dessert. Even with the redesign, it's still a classy placedress sharp.
