After 27 years at Midtown institution Mr. Chow, chef Philippe Chow took his show on the road (or at least a few blocks northwest) to open his own eponymous upscale-Chinese venue, Philippe. Now, Chow and his partners are hoping to conquer the West Village take-out market with Philippe Chow Express. Hanging out your shingle in the midst of Chinese faves like Sammy's Noodle Shop and Charlie Mom is a bold move, this newcomer's not lacking in the confidence department. The large menu ranges from lettuce wraps and dumplings to entrees like Beijing chicken with brown sauce and walnuts and nine season spicy prawns. Corn dog addicts can scratch the off-season itch with the "satay pack"a mix of 10 satays to go.
