The twentysomething team behind Lukes Lobster hits the east side for the second location of their Maine-themed seafood shack. While the signature lobster (or shrimp, or crab) roll is a moderate affairspare on butter and mayothe UES spot will break out the fryolators once ConEd gets its act together. Expect to clog your arteries with fried shrimp and belly-on clams in a little family recipe we use for the batter, says owner Luke Holden. To wash it down, a beer-and-wine license is pending, and Holden will offerwhat else?Maine brews. Rounding things out is the familiar affordable menu of seafood soups, crab claws and lobster tails, along with Maine Root sodas and Giffords ice cream. The funky beach-shack vibe is still there, though theres twice as much space to perch on stools and eat your catch beneath a mixed-media mural of the rocky Maine coast.
