Description:

Cafe d'Alsace was perhaps one of the most welcomed UES restaurants of 2006. Opened by Simon Oren, the man behind other French-themed restaurants Nice Matin and Marseille, the noisy brasserie is cheery, bright, big, and energetic, complete with French staples like the pewter bar and tiled floor. Expect to find typical French fare like steak frites and escargot on the menu. Cafe d'Alsace spiffs up the otherwise bleak diner scene in the upper 80s, and not surprisingly, the crowds have been packing in for brunch each weekend.
