Description:
This modern Southeast Asian restaurant takes over the old Wild Ginger space on Grove Street, with Aussie chef transplant Adam Woodfield (Sydney's Jimmy Liks) at the helm and a space designed by Martin Brudnizki (Le Caprice). The menu is full of traditional Asian flavors: The Vietnamese braised Wagyu brisket is served with a chili-lime dressing, and the crispy pork hock comes with a savory plum sauce. Although inspired by Thai street food, it's doubtful that you'd find an upscale pork belly curry like theirs on the streets of Bangkok (or one at $26 a pop, for that matter). A list of "stick drinks" are available for booze hounds. Cocktails like the Stormy Mulespiced rum, ginger, lime, ginger beerare muddled with a large sugar cane stick before serving. The chic and cozy space is dominated by a large communal table, perfect for making friends with other downtown diners, and even better if you have a big group that wants to pass around their East Asian dishes.
