Description:

Danny Meyer is known for both high-end concepts like Eleven Madison Park and the casual fast-food chain Shake Shack. This cafe in the Whitney Museum is closer to the grab-and-go end of the spectrum, but given its pedigree and location, don't expect an easygoing burger joint. The eatery will serve breakfast, lunch and brunch on weekends, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. You can expect standards like eggs, pancakes and pastries during the early AM, with soups, salads and sandwiches served midday. There are also a few standout providers, like the Four and Twenty Blackbirds pie shop in Brooklyn, who will be providing desserts. The space jives will with the unique design of the museum, with concrete walls and gleaming metal chairs. Now that this spot is up and running, that art exhibit you wanted to see isn't the only reason to check out the Whitney Museum.
