Theres been a lot of activity on the high-end Indian front lately: a revised menu at Tabla, the openingand Sifton-ingof Tamarind Tribeca, and now Tulsi, a refined Northern Indian spot in Midtown. Earlier this summer, chef Hemant Mathur announced he was leaving modern Indian darling Devi to start Tulsi. Expect the same wizardry with Indian flavors, plenty of local meats and a variety of street cart chaats. But were most excited about lunch: A $20 prix fixe will get you chaat, soup and a naanwich, which equates with portable Indian awesomeness. Mathurs wife Surbhi Sahni is on board as pastry chef.
