Description:
There's no shortage of Ethiopian food in Hell's Kitchen (Queen of Sheba, Meskerem), and the arrival of this Ethiopian spot just around the corner makes for a nifty little troika. This one looks way more mod than its predecessorssleek chairs, granite tablesand owner Ali Abdulla says that unlike other Ethiopian eateries, his doesn't tone down the food's spiciness, keeping it in line with traditional tastes. Lotsa traditional stuff going on here: Expect typical Ethiopian spices like berbere, mitmita and shiro perking up a variety of stews, or wot, including a mesir wot made with lentils and onions. Mains go for about $12, and Abdulla says a prix-fixe menu is in the works.
