French food gets the African touch at this casual bistro fitted with worn wood walls and scores of two- and four-top tables. Senegalese-born chef E.A Ciss (Cassis), who has worked under Daniel Boulud and Jean-Geroges Vongerichten, has handpicked dishes his mother made for him as a child, giving steaks and lamb shanks a dusting of African spices Grains of Paradise and a whole fish dish a side dish of plantains.
