Description:
After a long run serving creative Asian fare as O.G., this intimate space has reopened with an entirely new concept. Chris Genoversa, one of the partners at O.G., explains that the direction at 6th St. Kitchen is like, "going home to your mom's fridge and making a meal out of what's in there. But stuff that takes timethat you wouldn't normally make for yourself." That stuff is a comfort-food mix of meat-heavy small plates and entrees like chorizo sliders with manchego and aioli, a lamb sandwich of slow-roasted shank meat with caramelized tomatoes and pork and veal meatballs. The space underwent an update as well, but still has a modern, clean vibe that serves as a counterpoint to the down-home food. Genoversa explains that the affordable $7 small plates are meant to be shared and will come out of the kitchen as they're ready, not as traditional courses. Come to think of it, this does sound a bit like mom's house.
