Located in the former Empire Diner, this Chelsea restaurant dishes out pretty much any meal you can imagine. You can get breakfast before heading to a business meeting in the hood, brunch before walking a few blocks over to scope out the galleries, or dinner if you're just in the mood for some classic American fare. While the exterior of the restaurant remains largely intact, the menu was completely changedit may look like a plain and simple diner, but you're not going to get frozen French fries and bad coffee here. The offerings are classic American with a soul food bentthink fried chicken and mac and cheese (which pretty much any restaurant that opens these days has to offer). Of course, classics are served, and you'll find plenty of pancakes and French toast during brunch. A tip: Opt for something a little more adventurous, like the sweetbreads and waffles.
