The year's most prolific restaurateur, Michael Bao Huynh, brings his 2009 tally to eight restaurants with the opening of Mikey's Burger on the Lower East Side. Here, he tackles a quintessential American dish, butin true Bao-ian fashionputs his own Asian spin. The short rib/chuck/brisket burgers come in four varieties, including a satay-sauce-topped lamb burger with mint, a tempura-fried tilapia fish burger with wasabi aioli, and the house's signature "Mikey," which is slapped with corned beef hash. Curry chili and groovy shakes (avocado!) fill out the rest of the trippy menu.
