So much for distancing themselves from the Queen of Mean. This new American bistro in the Helmsley Hotel takes the place of the former Mindys (another Leona Helmsley nickname) and serves straightforward hotel fare. Tuna tartare, smoked duck salad and crab cakes are just the appetizers we can imagine the ladies who lunch, lunching on. New York strip, squash ravioli and seared salmon with chipotle rub are entrees. Breakfast is served daily, which could be a good bet for early meetings near Grand Central. Former Gotham Bar & Grill toque Brian Wieler mans the kitchen. Also, it appears there is a required 19 percent gratuity added to checks. Its always about the money, we suppose.
