Organic Avenue, the mixed-use Stanton Street raw/vegan-focused shop, has relocated a few blocks to a 4,000-square-foot space on Suffolk Street that they call the "Space of LOVE." On the retail side, expect an exhaustive selection of prepared raw, live and organic foods, as well as staples like flax seed crackers, deodorant crystals and nut milk. The juice bar puts those chain-store calorie-bombs to shame, serving nutrient-dense cold pressed juices prepared in the shop's Long Island City kitchen using a hydraulic press method that minimizes oxidation and maximizes nutritional value. For those who want to go the extra mile in the New Year's detox department, Organic Avenue also offers a wide range of events, discussions, classes and workshops, and five varieties of "cleanse programs" that can be delivered to your door (giving you one less excuse for ditching your healthy-eating plan).
