Description:

Formerly known as Why Curry?, Lychee is a new restaurant in name only: the menu, ownership and space all remain the same. Not as self-consciously space-aged modern as some other East Village Thai spots, it offers a more laid-back vibe that goes along with the "homestyle Thai" approach. Like most of its competitors, there's an extensive menu covering all of America's favorite Thai dishes, from spicy Tom Yum soup to Pad Thai to a range of curries. Occasional unexpected offeringslike Panang salmon for the omega-3 setkeep things interesting. The many fans who have made this Tompkins Square Park restaurant an area favorite for reliable Thai takeout and delivery will be glad to know that Why Curry? by any other name is still Why Curry?
