Considering this Mexican deli expanded into the storefront next door to open a sit-down restaurant, its no wonder the menus so exhaustiveno shortage of ingredients to draw upon. Oddly enough, there are American staples like burgers and roast beef sandwiches, but youd do best to stick to platters served with refried beans, rice, guacamole, hot sauce and tortillas or the wide array of enchiladas, fajitas and burritos made with fried pork, beef tongue and salted beef. Though there are white tablecloths, the long dining room is hardly charming, with just a few paintings and a flat-screen TV adorning the walls. Whether youre there for a hearty Mexican breakfast of huevos rancheros or chilaquiles with meat and eggs or noshing on cemitas and tortas during lunch, pop open a Mexican beer or soda and sit back to watch whatever telenovela happens to be playing.
