It takes a mere summer internship to realize that NYC has some pretty poor Mexican takeout options (we're excluding Sunset Park and East Harlem from this equation; summer interns don't go to Sunset Park or East Harlem). California is king, with Baja Fresh as the state's chief burrito force. As the name suggests, crisp ingredients and SoCal recipes is the game. Nine burritos like charbroiled shrimp and "nacho style," quesadillas and the takeout torta (novel!) gets you thinking outside the Chipotle wrapper. Queso fundido and fresh quac will totally screw up your summer diet. A second location is planned for later this year.
